V-Taper AI: Get V-Shaped · Last updated September 10, 2026
Body scans are measured on your device and are never uploaded. A meal photo, a photo of a restaurant menu, or a meal you type out is transmitted only when you explicitly choose one of the AI options. We run no user accounts, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
Photos you take or select are processed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Neither the photo, the body cutout, nor any measurement derived from it is ever uploaded, transmitted, or shared. Measurements and cutout images are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone, and are deleted when you use "Delete all local data" or uninstall the app.
As part of a body scan, the app uses on-device face detection (Google ML Kit Face Detection) solely to locate your head in the photo and measure your head width, which is used to compute the shoulders-to-head-width comparison shown with your result. Face detection runs entirely on your device. The app does not perform facial recognition, does not identify you, and does not create a biometric template or faceprint.
The only face-related information the app stores is a set of numeric measurements (head width and its pixel position in the photo), saved together with the scan in the app's private storage on your phone. No face data — neither the photo, nor the detected face region, nor these measurements — is ever collected by us, uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any third party. Because face data never leaves your device, nothing is retained on any server. The stored measurements, the photo, and the body cutout remain on your device until you delete the scan, use "Delete all local data," or uninstall the app, at which point they are permanently deleted.
When you choose AI Meal Scan, the selected meal photo is sent over HTTPS to our processing service hosted by Vercel and then to Google's Gemini service to estimate visible foods, calories, and macronutrients. We use the photo only to return that estimate. Our application does not intentionally retain the photo after the request finishes. Vercel and Google may process request data under their service and security terms. Do not submit a photo containing people, sensitive documents, or information unrelated to the meal. You can instead add every meal manually without sending a photo.
Before your first AI Meal Scan, the app shows this disclosure — what is sent (the selected meal photo only) and who receives it (our Vercel-hosted service and Google Gemini) — and asks for your permission. Nothing is transmitted unless you agree, and every later scan is likewise started only by your explicit action.
If you save a meal with its photo, that copy and its nutrition values remain in the app's private storage on your phone until you delete the meal, use "Delete all local data," or uninstall the app.
When you choose Menu Picks, the app sends over HTTPS to the same Vercel-hosted processing service, and from there to Google's Gemini service, up to four photos of the menu you are looking at, together with three values about your day: the calories you have left, the protein you have left, and the shape goal you selected (waist, shoulders, or maintain). Nothing else about you is sent. The service returns dishes to order and one to skip. We use the photos only to return those picks, and our application does not intentionally retain them after the request finishes. Vercel and Google may process request data under their service and security terms.
The same disclosure shown before your first AI Meal Scan covers Menu Picks: it names what is sent and who receives it, and nothing is transmitted unless you agree. Each later scan is likewise started only by your explicit action. Menu photos are not saved to your meal log. When you log a dish from the results, the dish name and its estimated calories and macronutrients are stored on your device like any other meal.
Instead of a photo you can type what you ate, such as "chicken 100 g" or "밥 한 공기". That sentence is sent over HTTPS to the same Vercel-hosted service and on to Google's Gemini service, which returns an estimate of the calories and macronutrients. Only the words you type are sent: no photo, no measurements, no identifier. The estimate is shown for you to edit before anything is saved, and the saved meal stays on your device. We use the text only to return that estimate and our application does not intentionally retain it after the request finishes. Write only what you ate; do not include anything unrelated to the meal.
Height, weight, and age are optional and stored only on your device. They are used to display measurement context and, when you request it, calculate a starting nutrition target. Your height, weight, and age are never transmitted. The only figures that leave the device are the remaining calories, remaining protein, and shape goal sent with a Menu Picks request, as described above.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. To activate your subscription across reinstalls we use RevenueCat, which receives your purchase receipt and an anonymous identifier generated for your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal detail — we never collect those. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Frameworks required to operate purchases and on-device machine learning may process limited purchase, product-interaction, performance, or diagnostic data. We do not use this data for advertising or tracking. We do not request an account, email address, precise location, contacts, or advertising identifier.
You can delete individual scans and meals. "Delete all local data" removes all scans, cutouts, body details, nutrition targets, meals, and saved meal photos from the app. Deleting the app also removes its local container. Apple device backups may separately retain app data according to your iCloud or computer backup settings.
Percentiles shown in the app are computed on your device against ANSUR II, a public anthropometric survey. Your data is never added to it.
